Dude’s Gotta Wakeboard

Chapter 1
Bye-Bye Fly-Fly

The shiny red mushroom looked too perfect, almost like someone had drawn the prettiest mushroom ever, and placed it in the middle of the forest. Magali was hungry, and her stomach launched off a massive gurgle rocket. Zoing, zoing, zoing, wrrrrrrr, gog gog gog, qing qing qing qing qing qing! Rubbing her tummy, the marmot reached down to get the mushroom.

‘Don’t pick it! It’s poison!’ shouted Mishka, Magali’s best mate.

‘You’re wrong!’

‘I’m right!’ The rabbit twitched his pink nose.

‘Wrong!’ The marmot shook her head.

‘Right!’

‘Wrong!’

‘Go on then. Pick it. Eat it. Then, you’ll vomit like this…’ Mishka leaned over and opened his mouth really wide. He said, ‘Beeeeeeeuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk!’ He continued, ‘Then, you’ll run behind that tree, and do this… ‘ He squatted on the floor, scrunched his eyes, and did a pretend poo.

The marmot looked at the red mushroom with its perfect dots. ‘But, it’s so pretty. It looks delicious.’

Mishka pointed to a thin, brown mushroom camouflaged on the forest floor. ‘This one is the good one! Trust me.’

Sighing, Magali skipped past the red mushroom, stepping between trees. Her face suddenly squished up. ‘Urrrrrrrrrrggggggh! No!’ Sticky, silver, spider web covered her furry face, and a startled spider made a run for it, along her forehead. The marmot squealed, peeling the sticky grey string off her face. ‘Eeeeeeeeeeeeee! Yuck! Double Yuck! Triple Yuck!’
